About the Modernisation Fund Grants Programme.
The first phase of the Modernisation Fund Grants Programme is aimed at helping you understand your needs better. During June and July organisations delivering services that meet the needs of communities affected by the recession will be able to apply for £1,000 bursaries to pay for initial advice to explore how they can become more resilient and increase their impact by working more closely with others. Early applications are encouraged and will stand more chance of being successful. To find out more visit www.modernisationfund.org.uk
Community Action Plans have been developed for each of the six community areas in the current district of Wansbeck. Our six Community Area Partnerships, along with Active Citizens and members of the public have worked on prioritising the issues in their own areas. Over a period of six to nine months, the plans have been refined and are now published as easy to read Community Action Plans (February 2013). These plans not only highlight the issues of concern for local people, they propose specific actions which communities and service providers can take to improve the quality of life for local people across the six areas. Each Plan is supported by a Community Charter which outlines a series of service commitments to the communities from the local authority and the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership. The plans link directly to the Northumberland Sustainable Communities Strategy and Local Area Agreement and are intended to be taken forward by the new local authority, partnership and community infrastructure arrangements being developed in Northumberland.
